Redbud Lane Farm Pond

Though this a relatively small pond, it is worth checking for waterfowl in winter or migration, when species such as Bufflehead sometimes join the resident Canada Geese and Mallards. This pond has muddy banks which have proven good for migrating shorebirds, and it is worth checking in spring and fall. In a county with few good shorebirding spots, this pond has turned up Killdeer, Least Sandpiper, Solitary Sandpiper, Spotted Sandpiper, and Lesser Yellowlegs; further coverage could add to this list.

Accessibility: This small farm pond is adjacent to VA 604 (Chula Road); the pond itself is private, and should only be viewed from the road.
