Cypress Park

This small City of Suffolk-owned park is managed for recreation, which is centered around the outdoor swimming pool. Surrounding the pool are several acres of mowed turfgrass fields for general recreation. The grassy fields are lined by mixed pine and hardwood forests. A small path winds into the woods at the southwest corner of the park, which may be productive for birding during migration. Along the Oregon Avenue access road is a small patch of 5ish year cutover regrowth habitat, which may yield bird species favoring that habitat type during migration.

There are restrooms and a picnic shelter available to the public and there is ample free parking. On days when the pool is open expect this park to be crowded.
